Slavery Impact:
The main impact of the abolitionist movement is that it helped to end slavery in the United States. It was not mainly the abolitionists who did it, but the Civil War that ended slavery. A little modo all abolitionists lived by: create raves and free slaves!
Important events:
The Dred Scott Case was when an escaped slave named Dred Scott took slavery to the court. There the judge told him that he was not a person, but only a slave. He was sent back to being a slave after all his hard work to make slavery illegal. Also an importat event of the Abolitionist Movement was the Fugitive Slave Law. This law said that any escaped slave found and returned will be worth a large amount of money.
Important People:
Fredrick Douglas was an abolitionists, which fought to end slavery within the United States in the Civil War. He was recognized as one of Americas first great black speakers after doing of many Anti-Slavery speaches.
