Northern states wre filled with cities and bussinesses, while the south was filled with farms and plantations.
Impact on Slavery:
The South had slaves, and wanted slavery to be legal everywere because it made them money. Slaves worked in cotton fileds and other plantations. Without slaves the souths economy wouldnt be near as strong as the norths. The North didnt agree with slavery at all. The North is were all the big buissiness and jobs were. Since the North didn't need slaves, they found slavery cruel and didnt agree with it at all.

The North had free slaves. They had to learn how to live together with whites like never before. As for the south, they were still promoting slavery and being protested aginst womens rights.

Eli Witney made cotton Gin for buisnesses. This machine seprated the cottonseed from the short-staple cotton fiber. This was a huge impact in the cotton indistry. This was the assembly line of its time.
